FIBA and IWBF (International Wheelchair Basketball Federation) have strengthened their partnership with the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding until the end of 2023.

All four competitions are qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games but were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball has revealed the dates and locations for a series of major competitions taking place over the next three years.
The sport has confirmed that the cycle will remain unchanged heading towards the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, despite the postponement of Tokyo 2020.
Headlining the announcement is the 2022 IBSA Goalball World Championships which will take place in Hangzhou, China, from 3-15 July.
The IWRF Board of Directors have chosen to continue the suspension all IWRF sanctioned events and officials travel until further notice. This suspension will be revisited periodically by the Board of Directors.
There will be no IWRF sanctioned international competitions in 2020.
During the last Executive Council meeting the IWBF Executive Council approved the ratification of two new National Organisations governing Wheelchair Basketball (NOWB’s) – Namibia and Venezuela.
Namibia Wheelchair Basketball Federation become the tenth member of the IWBF Africa Zone.
