Welcome message by Dr. Debra Alexander

Welcome to APSO, the Association of Paralympic Sport Organisations, established in 2017. We are a collective of 21 International Federations and sport organisations that govern sports on the Paralympic Games programme or recognised by the IPC, united by a common mission: to represent, support, and strengthen our sports and the athletes who inspire the world through them.

The rapid growth of Paralympic sport has created different models of governance across the movement. APSO brings together those federations that carry full responsibility for their sports internationally, providing them with a strong and united voice within the Paralympic community.

Our strength lies in unity and collaboration. By working together, we amplify our influence, share expertise, and uphold the highest standards of governance and integrity. APSO also serves as a vital platform for dialogue and support, enabling our members to learn from one another and address the challenges we face collectively.

Sport has the power to inspire, to push boundaries, and to show what is possible. As guardians of our sports, we must ensure that every federation and every athlete has a voice at the highest level. APSO is committed to building on the solid foundations laid by our members and leaders, and to shaping a future where Paralympic sport continues to thrive and grow for generations to come.
